Krista Biggs

Graduate Student
BSc. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute/ USA, 2018

Krista works on in situ tests of sheet steels used for automotive applications. This has given her the opportunity to spend many hours focusing on sample preparation and testing in the SEM- focus that, in her spare time, translates to rowing marathons on the rowing machine!

Ikuho Nakahata

Visiting Graduate Student
BE. Tokyo Institute of Technology/Japan, 2018
Graduate Student, Tokyo Institute of Technology/Japan

Ikuho has been working on in situ tests for titanium alloys. He is really good at sample cutting and everyone asks him for his help. However, he doesn’t know how to cut his hair and it has been getting longer and longer since he came here.

Killian Sheriff

Visiting Undergraduate Student
BSc. McGill University/Canada (ongoing)

Killian works on the correlation of local strain data with phase and grain identification on a multi-field map. One of his projects involves developing a new software to study neighbourhood effect in dual phase steel. Originally from south of France, Killian enjoys waking up early and going to the beach!

Isao Arai

Visiting Scientist
BSc. Tokyo Institute of Technology/Japan, 2007
MSc. University of Tokyo/Japan, 2009

Isao has spent over 10 years analyzing a lot of inorganic materials with SEM, EPMA, AES etc. and has revealing the mechanisms causing good/bad properties of the materials. His original major was earth science, so he sometimes get back to nature.
